Mad Decent Boat Party Attendees Unhappy With Reported Refunds Issued

Though the Paris terrorist attacks have deservedly captured the headlines over the weekend and the past week, another tragedy shook the music world. A 24-year-old woman, Kaylyn Rose Sommer went overboard on the Diplo-helmed Mad Decent Boat Party and was not found after several days of searching for her by authorities. The four-day party was cut short after the incident and refunds were issued by Mad Decent and the cruise line Norwegian Cruise Line, but fans are not happy with the amount that they have received.

According to TMZ, fans only got $57.47 back on the total of nearly $1,000 per ticket. According to reps for Norwegian Cruise Lines, that was total amount that could have been refunded. That was the "cost of the cancelled excursion plus port taxes" and everything else is "non-refundable."

Though the party was technically cut short - the ship never made it to Mexico for its scheduled stop for an all-day open bar party on the coast - attendees did still get a four day cruise vacation at sea with performances from some of the world's best DJs the entire time.

Though Sommer, a mother and wife, going overboard did put a damper on things, it did not stop the cruise and things continued as much as they could have until the cruise ended as planned on Nov. 15.

Currently the FBI are investigating the incident involving Sommer and her going overboard. Mad Decent Boat Party brought together some of the biggest and best DJs from the staple of Mad Decent artists as well as others. Those include Skrillex, Diplo, Major Lazer, Grandtheft, Dillon Francis, Party Favor, Jauz and many more.
