Carrie Underwood has certainly demonstrated her love for Guns N' Roses before, particularly when performing a cover of the band's classic track, "Paradise City," at the 2013 CMA Music Festival in Nashville. During a recent interview, the singer expressed her desire to collaborate with the rock band's iconic frontman, Axl Rose.
"I really want to sing with Axl Rose at some point in my life," she said during an interview with E!. "I've covered enough Guns N' Roses stuff, and it was people like him who taught me how to sing." She adds: "I look at people like him and Freddie Mercury, those people who were doing all these crazy runs. It was so different."
Underwood also talked about her marriage, particularly how she and husband Mike Fisher are no longer in the "honeymoon phase" now that baby Isaiah and his "poopy diapers" have entered the world. When asked about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton and whether they make a good couple or not, the singer replied "I have not seen them together yet. You just hope everybody's happy or will be happy."
Recently, rampant rumors have been circulating in regards to a reunion of the original founding members of Guns N' Roses, which would be a dream come true for fans like Underwood. The rumors began to take form when it was reported that former guitarist Slash and Axl Rose were once again on speaking terms, patching up their previously deep-seated issues. The rumors have since been confirmed by former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland, as well as a friend of Duff McKagan's (former GnR bassist) wife.
Fans and Underwood alike will continue to speculate on the reunion until some form of solid news is announced, which is supposedly expected to drop within the coming weeks.
