Although at one point it looked like there would be a little friendly competition between exes, apparently Chris Brown has had a change of heart and pushed back Royalty in response to Rihanna dropping Anti the same day. Brown looks to have changed his plans upon hearing the news that Rihanna's eighth studio album was finally finished and that she would now be challenging his Black Friday release date (Nov. 27), which up until Sunday (Nov. 22) was a go for Brown.
After many rumors of its arrival, Tidal officially announced the release of Rihanna's long awaited Anti album. In addition to announcing the upcoming release date, she also mentioned that she would be headlining a massive world tour which would feature the likes of Travis Scott for the North American leg of the tour, and then go on to feature The Weeknd and Big Sean once she made her rounds for the European leg of the tour.
Upon learning the news that Rihanna had planned to release her new album the same day as Royalty, Brown took to Twitter to announce that he would move on with the same release date.
Somewhere along the way, Brown changed his mind, because when he stopped by HOT 97 and spoke with radio host Nessa, he mentioned that the album would now be delayed until Dec. 18. According to Hotnewhiphop, Brown said that while the album will not be for sale on Black Friday, fans will be able to pre-order, get access to the official tracklist and hear snippets of his newest work.
Watch him address the new album at minute 19:05.
