Rihanna may be friends with the monsters under her bed but she's going to get acquainted with some extra terrestrials in DreamWorks' latest animated film Home.
According to Vibe magazine, the Bajan pop star will lend her vocals for the animation.
The site reports that Rihanna will voice the character Tip, a stubborn teenage tomboy helping a group of aliens find their new home.
The film, based on Adam Rex's book The True Meaning of Smekday, is the first animated film with an African-American lead character.
The film also features vocals from Jim Parsons as an alien named Oh, Jennifer Lopez as Tip's mother and Steve Martin as Captain Smek, the leader of the "Boov" alien race.
A synopsis from Indiewire reads, "When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while the Boov get busy efficiently reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, (Rihanna) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov by the name of Oh (Jim Parsons). Equally stubborn and set in their ways, these two fugitives realize there's a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime. Good thing they have a flying car."
Home is slated to hit theaters on November 26. Rihanna is also set to release an accompanying album.
