There's one less thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving... Justin Bieber's planned performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been cancelled. On Tuesday (Nov. 24), the "Sorry" singer announced that he's had to cancel two appearances in New York City this week, citing personal reasons.
Bieber announced that he has cancelled a planned appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for today. On his Twitter, he just apologized for not being able to make it, and said that he "hopes to make it up to you soon."
The "Love Yourself" singer also followed up with a personalized tweet to Stephen Colbert, saying that "sometimes life kicks our ass and we need to deal with it." According to Entertainment Tonight, Bieber cited personal reasons for the cancelled appearance but did not elaborate any further.
After Bieber was set to perform on The Late Show, he was expected to record a live performance for Thursday's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Earlier this month, it was announced that Bieber was expected to perform on the CBS telecast of the annual event. That performance has also been scrapped.
Bieber's new album Purpose was released last Friday (Nov. 13). The album has been a great success for the 21-year-old pop star; it was his sixth No. 1 album in the U.S., besting One Direction's Made in the A.M.
