It looks like Island is letting go of the latest release date for Mariah Carey's 14th album. Originally planned for May 6, it seems like The Art Of Letting Go has been delayed once again.
According to Popdust, both Hits Daily Double and Island Records' official website have removed The Art Of Letting Go from its upcoming release schedule. A quick peek at those websites shows that, yeah, the album is nowhere in sight.
Carey herself has yet to comment on or confirm the most recent delay. But this wouldn't be the first time that The Art Of Letting Go has been pushed back. The album was originally scheduled for July 23, 2013, after the single "#Beautiful" dropped in May of that year. Then, it was indefinitely postponed as Carey returned to the studio mid-last year.
When the diva announced the album's third single, "You're Mine (Eternal)" for Valentine's Day, she also revealed The Art Of Letting Go would be coming May 6. Now, it seems like another release date is out on the horizon.
The delay follows the lukewarm reception of the love ballad "You're Mine," which debuted and peaked at No. 88 on the Billboard Hot 100, a far cry from the Nos. 1 Carey is used to -- she's had 18 over the course of her career.
A new release date for The Art Of Letting Go has yet to be set.
