B.o.B. Says Atlantic Records "Suppressed" Him and His Artistry

Many are wondering where Atlanta rapper B.o.B. has been. After releasing his debut, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, in 2010, the rapper was completely ubiquitous. His voice all over the radio, his fashion choices being mainstays for fans, etc. B.o.B. seemed like he was here to stay. However, the rapper's musical output has been mostly scant in the last few years. Although he continues to release new music, like this year's Psycadelik Thoughtz, hype and promotion around the rapper's new material has been somewhat hard to find. Thus, the impression is that "B.o.B." has "fallen off" or lost the drive that made him such an omnipresent star at the onset of the decade. B.o.B. claims, however, that this is not up to him. According to the rapper, his label, Atlantic Records, has put insufficient promotion behind his material, and has "suppressed " him as an artist.

"There's a ban on BoB," The Atlanta rapper wrote in a series of posts on Twitter. "They boycott me, they are afraid I'll get too much exposure. When ppl say I'm "under-rated" or 'slept-on' ... it's not entirely the case... 'suppressed' is a better word. All my social media outlets are heavily monitored and my reach is crippled."

According to AllHipHop, the Atlanta rapper went on to that T.I. for his support and promotion of the artists. "Thank God @Tip got my back and he still in my corner, #HustleGang #NoGenre," he writes. "To every fan who has ever gave me a RT, a follow, or a like... thank you for spreading the word. You've done more promo than the label."
