50 Cent thinks that Fetty Wap should have been nominated for Best New Artist at the 2016 Grammys and he isn't afraid to tell you. In a new Instagram post the "In Da Club" rapper asserts that Fetty Wap deserved to be nominated and disses the Grammys all in one. He also cited his own slight in 2004.
"My Best New Artist award goes to, Fetty Wap," he said in the Instagram caption. "He put out some real hits this year. They're overlooking him. They did the same thing to me. Get Rich Or Die Tryin', 13 million copies sold."
Despite his slight in other categories, 50 did receive a nomination for Best New Artist in 2004 but subsequently lost to Evanescence. The only Grammy that he has ever won as an artist was for 2009's "Crack A Bottle," which also featured Eminem and Dr. Dre.
50 Cent's battle with the Grammys is just the latest of many beefs in his life. He just finished a 10 year long struggle with fellow rapper The Game. Shortly after the release of his The Documentary 2 album The Game took the first step in ending the beef by complimenting some of 50's work in an interview with Hot 97. But The Game is now reportedly sparring with "Best Friend" rapper Young Thug.
When asked about the bad blood between the two The Game said, "Nah, you know what, I haven't seen 50 in like 10 years. And I ain't got no beef with him these days. I watch Power sometimes. I think it's a cool series."
