Kristin Cavallari's Brother, Michael, Found Dead 2 Weeks After Reported Missing

In a truly sad turn of events, Kristin Cavallari's brother Michael was found dead in Utah on Thursday (Dec. 10), just two weeks after he was publicly reported missing. The former MTV reality star posted an emotional tribute to her older brother, honoring his life and the time they spent together.

"At approximately 10:30 a.m., search crews located remains believed to be that of Michael Cavallari," Grand County Sheriff Steven White said in a statement. "At this time, the body is being transported to the Office of the Utah Medical Examiner for positive identification and to determine the cause of death."

The official search team thoroughly looked in the Salt Wash area near exit 157 on I-70 in Grand County. Michael's body was discovered on a steep and extremely rocky terrain.

Law enforcement have been searching for the 30-year-old Southern California resident by foot and helicopter since Nov. 27, after a rancher found Michael's 2014 Honda Civic abandoned with the engine running and the airbag deployed.

Two days before Michael was reported missing, he posted his bond after allegedly threatening a woman in Orange County, California. The unnamed woman filed a report against Michael, revealing they previously engaged in a heated argument and he later returned with a loaded shotgun.

Kristin, who recently welcomed her third child with Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, shared a sentimental photo with her brother on Instagram.

The former bad girl of Laguna Beach and The Hills is very thankful for the support and prayers her family has received during this horrific time. She asks that the public and media allow her family to grieve and to respect their privacy.

"We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found," Kristin told People. "This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving."
