Former Oasis member Noel Gallagher has unleashed a brand new B-side titled "The Girl With X-Ray Eyes," and it's softly brilliant.
According to NME, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will release a new single The Dying Of The Light Friday, Dec. 11 via Ignition Records which will include the demo. The limited seven-inch will be available on colored vinyl.
The song is a delicate acoustically-driven soft rock track, seeming to to have tons of similarities to some of Oasis' early works like their second studio album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, which became famous for tracks "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova." It's also certainly a lot less hard rock infused than his latest solo work.
While Noel and brother Liam Gallagher have neither denied or confirmed a possible Oasis reunion in the future, it doesn't seem like it will be happening in the near future, especially with Liam recently criticizing Noel for his decision to use the song "Half The World Away" for a Christmas advertisement.
During one of two lengthy interviews the artist had this past week, the first of which he insulted Adele, saying that her "bland" music is part of a "sea of cheese" and is "for f**king grannies," Noel also discussed his regret for the way Oasis ended things.
"Leaving Oasis – that was a horrible night [in Paris, 2009]," he said to BBC Radio 2. "I knew that it was going to be a decision that would follow me around – there’s still not a day where I don’t read something about us getting back together – so I knew what I was getting myself into. [It was the right thing to do], definitely. What Oasis had in its future was to do bigger tours and generate more money, which is great. I wasn’t planning on going solo, but it was such a mess that I was happier off [doing that]."
Noel released his own brand new LP this year titled Chasing Yesterday with his band, who play London's Royal Albert Hall tonight (December 10) before heading out on a 2016 UK arena tour.
