Demi Lovato's Unflattering "Sister" Poot Makes TIME's Most Influential List

Demi Lovato's "sister" Poot Lovato emerged from the basement this year to become a massive fan-fiction meme, and she arrived right on TIME's list of the Most Influential Fictional Characters of 2015.

Poot, who isn't actually Demi Lovato's "locked in a basement her whole life" sister, actually arrived online in October. The image, which shows a very wonky looking Lovato, is actually the result of an unflattering photo and likely some Photoshop manipulation.

Despite the blaring falsity of Poot, TIME listed her at No. 15 on its Most Influential Fictional Characters (between Aziz Ansari's Masters of None character Dev Shah and The Walking Dead's Glenn Rhee) list thanks to her fast spread, meme-ability and the fact that she managed to pull away attention from Lovato's fall 2015 album Confident and how she unfortunately twisted Lovato's carefully crafted sexy image.

Poot wasn't the only music-related fictional character to make the list. Taraji P. Henson's Empire queen Cookie Lyon topped the list and Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" alter-ego "Catastrophe" also made the cut.
