WATCH: Cher Lloyd 'Sirens' music video shows dramatic, serious side of 'Sorry I'm Late' singer

Cher Lloyd is almost always known for her fiery bratty personality, but for the music video for her emotional powerhouse ballad "Sirens," the British pop star is getting serious. Today (April 29), Lloyd dropped the dramatic clip for her second Sorry I'm Late single and things are much less sugar-coated than the "Want U Back" girl of yore.

It's clear things in "Sirens" are going to be different off the bat just by the lighting in the opening moments. In a crappy house, things are notably dim as Lloyd lights a cigarette, peering into a seedy living room where her boyfriend is selling drugs.

The storyline for "Sirens" follows as Lloyd looks to protect her and her boyfriend's daughter from the shady deals happening within the house. Eventually, the police raid the home in a parade of sirens (get it?!) and Lloyd slithers out of the home, daughter in tow, as she sets her possessions ablaze.

All the meanwhile, emotional shots of Lloyd crying into the camera from the shadows are intercut between the melodramatic storyline.

The entire clip is a long way from Lloyd's other musical pursuits, including the first Sorry I'm Late single "I Wish" (feat. T.I.) which showed Lloyd scheming on how to get herself a man. Surprisingly, the 20-year-old pulls off the acting in the clip fairly well, showcasing the raw power of her ballad.
