Although at times it seemed Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour would go on forever and her squad would continue to multiply, the star-studded jaunt officially wrapped up its 85-gig run on Friday night in Melbourne, Australia.
Spanning a total of seven months and passing through four continents, the tour allowed the "Wildest Dreams" singer to surprise her fans with special guests like Julia Roberts, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Uzo Aduba, Mick Jagger, Ellie Goulding, Alessia Cara and more. A group hug ensued on stage between the pop sensation and just a handful of members that make up the hardworking, 125 person 1989 Tour crew, the same group she recently gifted an Australian vacation to in order to give thanks.
"Melbourne, the first two nights with you have been magical. Tonight we play this show for the very last time," the "Blank Space" singer posted on Instagram ahead of the final Dec. 12 gig. "I'm so honored I get to share the last night of the 1989 World Tour with all of you. This has been the most incredible adventure. Thank you for all of it."
The tour launched in Japan on May 5, bringing fourth 78 celebrity cameos across 53 cities and now, Swifties can continue on with the 1989 hype through 2016 with the "Out of the Woods" singer's recently announced concert film directed by Jonas Akerlund, The 1989 Tour Live, MTV News notes.
The Australian leg of the tour found Swift spending Thanksgiving with family and butting heads with environmental activists concerned for the safety of endangered bird habitats during the pop star's video filming. She boasted an intimate, acoustic performance of staple 1989 hits and in true T Swift nature, spent time with a fan who's one wish was to meet the singer before she lost her hearing.
