Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray on Scott Weiland's Death, Singer Not Surprised

Mark McGrath from that band you may remember, Sugar Ray, is just the latest to speak out about Scott Weiland's death from a string of musicians who've come out with commentary. These include Billy Corgan, Travis Barker and most recently Nikki Six. In an Allegedly podcast shared by TMZ that will be posted in full on Dec. 15, he details thoughts on Weiland's death.

"I ran into him a few times, and he admitted he was drinking still," McGrath said to the show's hosts Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss. "Drinking's just not part of the game; you're either sober or you're not." He also described during the podcast an incident where Weiland was drinking heavily and a bit "slow, almost psychological more than it even was the booze." He additionally described the rocker as being "out of it," in short clip of the full interview.

Recently, Nikki Sixx also came out to talk about the former Stone Temple Pilot's singer's death, as well as citing his own experience with drugs and alcohol on an episode of his show Sixx Sense. Sixx claims that he struggled with addiction for many years and got sober for his children. Sixx said that although the two weren't friends and knew each other vaguely, he could relate to some of Weiland's issues.

"Scott had two children, was on the road - I don't know his state of drug use or not - but the part that just rips my heart out is that those kids... who called them?" Sixx said during the episode. "Did the bus driver call them? Does the road manager call the mom and the mom sits them down? Forget the videos for a second and those songs you heard on the radio. It rips my heart out."

Sixx also revealed a chilling twist on the show, that during his last tour with Motley Crue, he actually slept in the same bed that Weiland died in.
