Apparently not all is well in the world of Def Jam Records. Crooners Jeremih and August Alsina both blasted the label in the same week for what they perceived as shady business handling. The discord started when Alsina took to Twitter to voice his displeasure of his sophomore album, This Thing Called Life, being leaked before its Dec.11th release. However, It didn’t stop there.
Over the weekend, Jeremih followed in a similar fashion, letting the record label know that they did not deserve his voice after he accused them of overpricing his third album, Late Nights, and sending it out in small quantities to retailers.
@DeafJamRecords y'all don't even deserve my voice

Someone then took it upon themselves to create a spoof twitter account on the record label's behalf, dubbing it as @DeafJamRecords, where they then proceeded to take a jab at Jeremih that certainly roused his ire.
WE CANT HEAR UR VOICE A**HOLE https://t.co/5J5fvAFKGG — Deaf Jam Records (@deafjamrecords) December 13, 2015
y'all some goofies 41 of y'all mf's really following @DeafJamRecordsy'all bored — Jeremih (@Jeremih) December 13, 2015
In addition, according to The Shaderoom, on late Wednesday (Dec.10th) in tweets that have since been deleted, Alsina issued a big eff you in tweets aimed at his label after learning his album leaked early saying, “I didn’t do this. My sh*tty a** label did it. They’re just f*cking sh*tty! SMH. I can’t win for f*cking losing dawg. F******CK YOU @DefJamRecords”. Alsina later took to Instagram to apologize for his passionate outburst, indicating to fans he let his emotions get the best of him.
This is not the first time this year artists have voiced being upset with certain labels. 50 Cent also blasted Def Jam for their lack of promotion when it came to Jeremih. Acts such as Waka Flocka and Lil Wayne have also had very public disputes with their labels this year and accused them of stifling their creativity.
