Back in February, Kanye West dropped a teaser trailer for a film inspired by his latest album, Yeezus. Few details have been given on the project since then; however, a poster for the project has surfaced on Instagram from Mazdack Rassie of Milk Studios.
The poster reveals that quite a star-studded team with Hype Williams directing and American Pyscho author Bret Easton Ellis writing the script. The music, as expected, is composed by West.
As Entertainment Weekly notes, the rapper promoted his 2013 album with an American Pyscho spoof (featuring Scott Dissick of KUWTK fame) and is now drawing inspiration from it for this upcoming project.
Although most of the collaborators haven't said much about the project, Ellis confirmed his role in the film earlier this year in an interview with VICE.
"I didn't want to [write the script] at first," he told them. "Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He'd given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I'm right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So f**k it, I said yes. And that's how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We'll see what happens. I really like him as a person. I know he comes off in this performance-art way in the press, but if you're just alone with him in a room talking for three hours, it's kind of mind-blowing."
There's still no word on the film's release date, but we'll update you as more information becomes available.
