'Jurassic Park' soundtrack from John Williams getting vinyl re-release

The great thing about the vinyl revival is that even though its mostly been driven by "hip" listeners, not all the music featured has to be hip. For example, your Three Days Grace album is cool now that it's on vinyl (a dramatic example). Film soundtracks have become the most recent trend, as listeners reach back to pick up their favorite scores pressed on 12-inch discs. Mondo is the most recent label to supply us, as it will release the classic Jurassic Park score on June 11.

There will be a couple different options for this release. The standard (but still limited edition, of course) will be a black double-LP set. A few random buyers will get a "dilophosaurus-colored" variant of the set, named for that dinosaur that spits venom. The vinyl doesn't actually look anything like said species, but it still pretty excellent, featuring green and yellow rings, with a big red splatter in the middle. There will be another thousand copies in amber yellow.

Mondo has a history with the film-score-as-vinyl rage, having released previous films such as Poltergeist, The Omen, and Coraline on record previously.

John Williams epic "Theme from Jurassic Park" (the one that plays when they see the brontosaurus for the first time) is still easily identifiable to anyone who knows anything about pop culture, hence making it a good pick for vinyl rerelease. The rest of the tracks will be featured on this set as well however. Check out the full listing below:
