Yesterday we reported about a poster for Kanye West's upcoming Yeezus film surfacing on Instagram from Milk Studio's creative director Mazdack Rassie. Roc Nation has now confirmed to Pitchfork that the poster is not authentic.
The poster had suggested that the film would be co-produced by Milk Studios and West's design company DONDA and that Bret Easton Ellis, the author of American Pyscho, would write the script.
Details of the a Yeezus film were announced back in February when West dropped a teaser trailer for the film on his website. Few details have been given on the project since then.
Although no one has said much about the project, Ellis confirmed his role in the film earlier this year in an interview with VICE.
"I didn't want to [write the script] at first," he told them. "Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He'd given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I'm right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So f**k it, I said yes. And that's how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We'll see what happens. I really like him as a person. I know he comes off in this performance-art way in the press, but if you're just alone with him in a room talking for three hours, it's kind of mind-blowing."
There's still no word on the film's release date, but we'll update you as more information becomes available.
