Taking Back Sunday Perform New Song 'Tidal Wave' at Holiday Show [WATCH]

During their recent Holiday Spectacular show this past Saturday (Dec. 19) at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, Taking Back Sunday performed a brand new song titled "Tidal Wave" for those in attendance.

The show, which featured support from Frnkiero Andthe Cellabration and the Superweaks, was one of a two-night residency the band occupied at the New Jersey venue. In the clip below, which was captured by a fan at the concert, the Long Island emo band's frontman Adam Lazarra explained how the song came about before diving into it.

Guitarist and often co-vocalist John Nolan, who had left the band for a number of years during the mid-to-late-2000s, had supposedly come up with the melody to the song during writing sessions, and while showing the others, the band's drummer instantly suggested that they make it into a song. They started to toy with the idea and eventually Nolan came back to the guys with a completed version of the song that Lazarra seemed particularly excited about.

Taking Back Sunday's latest album, Happiness Is, was released in March of 2014 on Hopeless Records, with the band touring throughout 2015 in support of the release. The album features popular singles "Flicker, Fade," "Stood A Chance," and "Better Homes and Gardens," all three of which were accompanied by official music videos.

Back in September, the band debuted another new song titled "Holy Water" at Xfinity Live! in Philadelphia, a song that seems to embody all that is Taking Back Sunday with its electric pop-punk guitar riffs and up-and-down passionate vocals. Thanks to fan footage, you can watch that performance below, as well.

While there haven't been any official details released regarding a new seventh studio album from the band, these two new songs can only hint that one may be coming sometime next year, hopefully along with a new album from their colleagues Brand New, who have also debuted two new songs this year but with no further announcement.
