Tasha Smith's Marriage is Over, Judge Grants Annulment Due to Many Lies Her Husband Told

What started as a loving union between Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married actress Tasha Smith and now ex Keith "Rory" Douglas, is over and done after a judge granted an annulment of the marriage due to the many lies and concealed information held by Douglas.

Smith, who plays a recurring role as the sister of Cookie Lyon (Taraji P Henson) on the hit Fox series Empire, is now single again after having her marriage annulled a few days ago, according to TMZ.

The two wed back in 2010, according to Baller Alert, and after over three years of marriage, Smith filed for a divorce in December of 2014. To make matters worse, Smith was ordered to pay $7,000 a month in spousal support during the divorce proceedings to maintain his lifestyle.

Now, after much time has been spent in court, a judge has ruled in her favor citing that the union would have never happened in the first place if Douglas was upfront and honest about his past.

Smith reportedly revealed during court appearances how the man that she had said "I do" to had concealed information about himself and led her to believe that he was someone that he was not. She revealed how, during their time dating, Douglas presented himself as a man of faith and a preacher. She had no clue that he had been married five times before and had a past criminal record. She also stated that she was misled about the number of children Douglas had and he had also failed to pay taxes for nearly a decade.

With all of Douglas' secrets exposed, the judge believed that Smith had in fact married under false pretenses and reportedly stated, "[Smith] in no way would have jumped within a few months at the chance to be bride number six." Ironically, the actress found herself asking the very same question of the movie she starred in, "why did I get married," but the answer is simply - because he lied, and the judge agreed.
