Miley Cyrus, The Flaming Lips Reunite to Release 'My Sad Christmas Song' [LISTEN]

Miley Cyrus has reunited with The Flaming Lips once again to release a brand new Christmas track titled "My Sad Christmas Song," their first studio track together since the 2015 Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz album.

The mellow, emotional Christmas track might not be what you were quite expecting from the eclectic pop star, who has been known as of late for her out-there antics, both on and off the stage, but its sad energy focuses on Cyrus' pristine vocals, with little instrumental interference.

The holiday track is not Cyrus' first Christmas endeavor. The singer recently appearing in actor/comedian Bill Murray's Netflix original Christmas special, A Very Murray Christmas, which is now available for streaming via the popular service. In the special, Cyrus appears in a classy red dress and sings alongside Murray and George Clooney, the three of them backed by a number of dancers and percussionists.

Miley Cyrus has been touring in support of her joint album with The Flaming Lips since earlier this year, shocking audiences with her costumes (or lack thereof), nudity and crassness. It was reported earlier in the year that the conglomerate would be performing completely in the nude, for a nude audience, in order to record a video for "The Milky Milky Milk."

Both artists have been flamboyant advocates of publicly presenting themselves in the nude, with Cyrus participating in the "Free The Nipple" campaign as well as appearing naked in her music video for "Wrecking Ball." Coyne appeared nude in his band's video for "Watching The Planets."

There hasn't been any update on the planned nude performance, or any additional new music from the team, but Cyrus does not appear to have any plans of slowing down any time soon.
