The music world was saddened by the passing of Lemmy Kilmister, who died on Dec. 28 after an extremely short battle with cancer. Musicians the world over are mourning the Motorhead frontman, but some notable names have reacted to his death on social media to commemorate Kilmister's life. Amongst those paying tribute are Slipknot, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne, Eddie Trunk, Flea, Dave Navarro, Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx and more.
The news of Kilmister's death was first announced by Trunk, who works as a radio DJ, and then later echoed by the Osbournes. The Motorhead official Facebook page officially confirmed Kilmister's passing shortly thereafter.
The official statement said that Kilmister died from "an extremely aggressive cancer," and was only diagnosed with the disease two days before his death.

Kilmister was 70 years old at the time of his passing and was the final remaining founding member of Motorhead. The legendary heavy metal band released a record 22 studio albums over the course of their career, the most recent being Bad Magic this past August. Motorhead had just wrapped up the last leg of a European tour at the time of Kilmister's death. In addition to cancer, he had also been suffering from a hemotoma and had been using an implantable defibrillator.
