It's been an up and down year for the A$AP Mob. The crew lost A$AP Yams in January but pushed on in honor of their friend. A$AP Ferg worked on his music and directed Future's visual for the track, "Thought It Was a Drought." A$AP Rocky released his album, A.L.L.A. in May and was featured in the hit film, Dope. Now, two days before we close out the year, Rocky has released At.Long.Last.Purple, the "chopped and screwed" version of his album.
The "chopped not slopped" mixtape was mixed by DJ Candlestick, OG Ron C, The Chopstars and Slim K and is available to download for free. The mixtape includes chopped up versions of all 18 tracks off of the original album along with 4 extra tracks.
Rocky was recently recruited by Samsung LEVEL Music Lab to head to the University of Las Vegas to teach some students about the music industry, his creative process and more. Rocky released a statement to Billboard about the event:
"I felt it was important to give the [students] more of a one-on-one insight of what the industry is like -- something that can be honest and genuine but still describe what would become if they pursue music careers. It was really fun -- we were walking around the campus -- there was really good energy out there. What I liked most about the experience was the cool cameras going around and us riding around on the golf carts."
Rocky also talked about his upcoming movie and music projects along with his plans in the fashion world.
Take a listen to At.Long.Last.Purple and let us know what you think. Will you be playing this at your New Year's Eve party?
