Alesso: Anthem
The new single is a bit different from what we have heard from Alesso in the past, but continues down the same path of gritty electro that he has used in other singles "Tear The Roof Up" and "PAYDAY" found on his debut album Forever .
It starts out with growls similar to those used by upstart duo Ephuard, and then transitions into hard grinding electro saws and a thundering bass line. The main refrain in the drop acknowledges that this is a tune designed for the dance-floor and not another tune that could head to radio, "Why you sittin' down, you should be dancin' dancin' / The party is on the floor, this is the anthem," a robotic voice demands of the listener.
He then switches things up in the second break with a slower, trap-influenced tempo, which is not too surprising to him go in that direction for those who follow him on socials.
Alesso is gearing up for another big year in 2016 and he has already laid out his plans for the year. He wants to scale back his endeavors with a "Less Is More" concept and put all of his energy into less shows and less music, so each song and gig matters more.
