President Obama is the comedian we all didn't know we were missing. That is until he came along and started making jokes at all the White House events. He went from being the leader of the free world to being everyone's best friend. He even rocked out to some hip-hop a few times. Now put him and comedian Jerry Seinfeld together and you get pure gold. Put them both in the same car cruising around the White House grounds because the Secret Service won't let them leave and it is even funnier. Obama joined Seinfeld on the premiere of season 7 of his web series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee this past Wednesday and the episode is finally up for everyone's viewing.
Seinfeld picked up Obama in the classic 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe and even let him drive it around the White House grounds. "I know how to drive man. C'mon," Obama says. Afterwards, Obama had Seinfeld join him in his bulletproof Cadillac, "The Beast." The two discuss multiples topics including ebay, football, Obama's love for nachos and of course politics.
The two did try to leave the White House premises but they were denied, not once but twice by secret service agents. The Cadillac was a perfect setting for them though. There were some serious topics but mostly lots of jokes and laughs between the two.
"Bad stuff, or stupid stuff, is happening constantly, right?" Obama says. "Every day. So you have to be able to just make fun of a lot of that, like: 'That was even dumber and more annoying than usual.' That's when cursing is really useful."
A behind the scenes video was posted on the White House Facebook page and it's hilarious. You can catch Seinfeld lounging in the Oval Office, asking Obama, "Are these washed?" as he munches on an apple. Watch the video and prepare to laugh! Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee streams on Crackle if you'll like to check out old episodes.
