Lil Wayne, Birdman Reconcile for 2016, Bring in the New Year Together

It appears that Lil Wayne and Birdman have decided to let bygones be bygones. The two have apparently reconciled for 2016 and brought in the new year together.

Although things have been rocky between the rapping “father/son” duo, it seems they have put their troubles in the past. In a New Year’s Instagram post from Drake, Weezy and Baby were captured enjoying a night out with 2 Chainz, Mack Maine and a few others.

As 2014 came to a close, Wayne and Birdman’s relationship turned sour. Following the delay of Wayne’s highly-anticipated Tha Carter V album, he called for a release from Cash Money Records and later rapped about his displeasure with the label. The “Lollipop” rapper also made allegations that he was not paid his due royalties for the project as well as other terms of their lengthy contractual agreement. Birdman was subsequently hit with a whopping $51 million lawsuit.

During an interview with Angie Martinez, Birdman asserted that the situation between him and Wayne were not as bad as they seemed.

“It’s not considered bad to me. I think media makes it worse than it really is,” he told the Power 105.1 host. “In due time we gon’ [reconcile], but this ain’t the place or the time to do that. My son respect me enough [that] if I call him and tell him I’m about to pull up, he gon’ open that gate, I’m goin in that house, we gon talk.”

This past summer, reports began to surface that Young Thug and Birdman conspired to kill Lil Wayne in a Bloods-related tour bus shooting back in April.

Hopefully, the mending of their relationship means Tha Carter V will drop soon.
