Eminem has something very special in store for his mother for this Mother's Day, and he's getting some help from filmmaker Spike Lee.
Last month, Music Times reported that Eminem and Spike Lee were teaming up for the visual for "Headlights."
According to Vibe magazine, the two are preparing for the upcoming video release and dropped a teaser for the fans.
"I really love the narrative for what we came up for 'Headlights,'" Lee said in the short clip. "It's a really great story. It's heartfelt. There's some pain in it but that's life. That's why we're here."
Eminem may not be the person you expect to get sentimental, so it's almost expected that the video will be a tear jerker.
Throughout the track, Em is apologetic to his mother and expresses regret of their severed relationship.
"But as stubborn as we are, did I take it too far, 'Cleaning Out My Closet'/ And all them other songs, but regardless I don't hate you/ 'Cause ma, you're still beautiful to me, 'cause you're my mom," he raps.
Footage for the video was shot in Em's hometown of Detroit. Lee referred to the video as a "short film."
He sent out a tweet saying, "Detroit's Finest EMINEM And Me Working Together On His Short a Film.Historic. Who Woulda Thunk It."
"Headlights" will serve as the next single from Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP 2.
The full video is set to be released Mother's Day (May 11).
