Questlove to executive produce new VH1 music series

It has become evident that VH1 loves hip-hop, as it is home to shows like the infamous Love & Hip-Hop franchise, T.I.'s Family Hustle and The Game's Marrying The Game among others. Questlove is the latest to join forces with the network.

Though Quest has already made quite a name for himself with The Roots and lending a hand to Jimmy Fallon's late night show, the drummer/producer is executive producing a music series for VH1 called SoundClash.

The Associated Press reports that the series is set to premier July 23 with Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy and sought after British group London Grammar. DJ-producer Diplo will host SoundClash.

AP says the concept of the show is to bridge the gap between A-List musicians and rising acts allowing them to perform a range of songs, from current hits to covers to collaborative numbers.

It has been reported that the series' second episode will feature Ed Sheeran, singer-songwriter Sia and alternative rock band Grouplove. This episode is slated to air the following week on July 30 with more episodes being announced later.

Questlove has been making some moves in the television world lately.

According to Rolling Stone, he recently appeared as a corpse on an episode of Law & Order: SVU.

In a "25 Things You Didn't Know About Me" article for Us Weekly, Questlove wrote, "It's my fantasy to play a dead body on Law & Order."

Dream fulfilled and it's safe to say he killed it.

Check out his clip below and be on the look out for SoundClash.
