Coldplay is ready to tell you some Ghost Stories. The arena rock band's follow-up to 2011's Mylo Xyloto is now available to stream on iTunes Radio First Play, a full week before its official May 20 release date.
From previously released tracks such as the Bon Iver-y "Midnight" to the stunningly simplistic lead single "Magic" to the throwback Parachutes-era song "Oceans," Ghost Stories seems to be a tale of Coldplay past and present. With six studio albums now under its belt, Coldplay can easily hop around its long-established discography to pick and choose sounds it wants to play around with.
That doesn't mean the album isn't one cohesive sonic landscape, Ghost Stories manages to sound like one put together piece instead of a scattered collection of songs while each track still has its own distinct identity.
