Casey Kasem missing: 'Scooby Doo' star and 'America's Top 40' host removed from country by possessive wife?

The world waits with bated breath after it became clear that Casey Kasem, the legendary radio host and voice of Shaggy from Scooby Doo, was missing.

A prolonged battle for guardianship over the 82 year-old has been waged between his current wife Jean Kasem and his three children from his first marriage. Kasem suffers from advanced Parkinson's disease, which requires him to be fed through a tube and has eliminated his ability to speak. A lawyer for his wife gave some alarming testimony Monday.

Craig Marcus, testifying for his client who wasn't present, suggested that Jean could move her husband to wherever she saw fit and suggested he may have been removed from the country. He concluded however that he had "no idea" as to Kasem's whereabouts.

"You're statements concern me," the judge replied, echoing the thoughts of everyone.

He ordered an investigation into Kasem's location, but his children told the New York Daily News that they had overheard rumors that their father was being moved to an Indian reservation.

Not unbelievably, the court saw fit to grant conservatorship to Kasem's eldest daughter Kerri Kasem following the proceedings. The new issue is that Jean doesn't want them to figure out where her husband is, and she may soon face legal charges because of it. The two sides have long not gotten along, as Jean forbade the trio of children from entering their father's home.

We hope the mystery is solved soon, as Kasem's condition is not one that should be played around with, and although he can no longer speak, we cherish memories of Scooby Doo and as host of the American Top 40 countdown.
