Apparently, the planned Party at 8 collaborative EP between PARTYNEXTDOOR and TM88 has been shelved.
The Atlanta-based producer shared the news with curious fans on Twitter late Saturday night (Jan. 9). When asked about the project’s status, TM88 responded with, “Don’t kno if it’s ever coming out not my fault tho.”
He went on to assure fans that their relationship is still in tact, but did not further elaborate on why the project would not be released.
Back in October, the project’s title track was leaked onto SoundCloud. Shortly thereafter, the song was pulled at the request of Warner Music. That same month, PND uploaded seven new songs that premiered on Drake’s OVO Sound show on Beats 1 Radio. The songs were subsequently removed from the music sharing service.
PND has yet to comment on the matter, but there is hope that the cancellation means that a studio album is on its way. Drake hinted at a possible 2015 release on "0-100 / The Catch Up,” where he raps, "We already got spring 2015 poppin' / PND droppin' / Reps-Up P droppin' / Majid Jordin droppin' / OB droppin' not to mention me droppin'."
He spoke on the highly anticipated release during an interview for his cover story with the Fader last April.
"The album's coming. I wanna make 100 songs for my album. I work very fast, but I haven't reached 100 yet. So when I get to 100, I'll pick from them. I have collaborators, but that's a secret. [My] dream list is like Tupac and Biggie. That's the dream list, but hopefully everything else is realistic."
PND's last album PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO, which features fan favorite "Recognize" with Drake, was released back in 2014. Check back with us for more updates on forthcoming projects by the OVO Sound signee.
