Meek Mill said he would donate $50,000 to help the people of Flint, Michigan, following news of a municipal change that rendered the city's tap water is toxic. He challenged his enemy, 50 Cent, to match him.
Meek Mill got the idea after a tweet that accused the rappers of spending too much time on pointless feuds.
Somebody tell @MeekMill & @50cent the ppl in #Flint #Michigan could use some water.. Their lives depending on it.. #DontWasteEachOthersTime

According to XXL, Mill tweeted back, "I got 50k to donate to waters ... Let's see if we can have @50cent match me! I'm pretty sure "flint" supported us! Serious post contact .... Roc nation will purchase for me and ship! Not even just him all entertainers! I ain't got the tine posting memes and s**t... "Way too trill for that" @dallaslifestyle it's my dawg hometown too! #FORMLKDAY."
The challenge is the latest salvo in a battle that has been brewing for days between the two rappers.
Meek Mill taunted 50 about his most recent mixtape, 4/4. Among other things, the Philadelphia rapper taunted 50 for being referred to as gay by ex-girlfriend Vivica A. Fox. Fiddy responded with a scatological Instagram post suggesting Mill get girlfriend Nicki Minaj pregnant so he can receive child support after their "inevitable" divorce. Naturally, things only went south from there.
While most hip-hop feuds fizzle or escalate to a ridiculous level, the Meek Mill/50 Cent beef has the potential to benefit a community in dire need of help. If 50 matches or even tops Mill's contribution in the spirit of competition, the residents of Flint will be the winners.
