It's not quite the reunion tour we've been hoping for but at least it's something... right?
In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Division Bell, the legendary psychedelic rockers have said they plan to release the band's 1994 album as an extravagant six-disc collector's box set and vinyl release.
Rolling Stone reports that inside the Division Bell package will sit a two-LP, remastered, 180-gram vinyl edition of the album that contains each track in full, a nice perk considering the original tracks were shortened to fit on single LP. Also included will be a CD of the 2011 Discovery version of the album, in addition to three imitation colored vinyl made up of:
1. A red 7-inch "Take it Back" single with a live version of "Astronomy Domine" on the B side
2. A clear 7-inch with edits of both "High Hopes" and "Keep Talking"
3. Finally, a blue 12-inch disc with full versions of "High Hopes" and "Keep Talking" as well as a live rendition of "One of These Days."
Rounding out the set are five art prints and a version of the album mixed in 5.1 surround sound on Blu-Ray and a new video for "Marooned," directed by Aubrey Powell – in high definition, of course.
The Division Bell was the second album the band released following the heavily publicized departure of their co-founder and former bassist/vocalist Roger Waters. Ever since the separation, the bandmates have been in constant "battle" with Waters, but as of 2013, the latter was quoted saying, "I was wrong. Of course I was. Who cares?" in regards to the legal battles over the group's name.
Regardless of the disputes, the band has come together for a handful of performances over the years. Sadly, still no reunion tour.
