As previously reported, Iggy Azalea was the basis for a controversial headline on Forbes this week that claimed, "Hip Hop is Run By A White, Blonde, Australian Woman" (later changed to "Hip-Hop's Unlikely New Star: A White, Blonde, Australian Woman"). One person, however, does not agree with the article: Nicki Minaj.
The article written by Hugh McIntyre mentions that Minaj was "oddly quiet for months" following the release of "Lookin Ass," "Chiraq," "Yasss B*tch" and other features over the past three months.
Minaj commented on the issue during a recent interview with Charlamagne on The Breakfast Club (via AllHipHop), first laughing it off, then explaining what Forbes should really be focusing on.
"Ok, I'm reloaded," she said. "Listen, all Forbes needs to worry about is my finances and when I'm going to be selling my Myx Fusion for $250 million. That's all they need to worry about. We rely on Hip Hop journalism and blogs for THAT kind of information. So we appreciate that, but no thank you."
Listen to the interview below (the Forbes mention starts at the 8:30 mark).
