After unveiling its 2015 aftermovie on Monday, Electric Zoo has announced its 2016 dates and another rebrand complete with a new name for the festival "Wild Island."
Now being dubbed "Electric Zoo: Wild Island" the three day electronic music festival promises to capitalize on the animal theme more this year with new stages inspired by larger-than-life animals.
The festival will unsurprisingly make its return to Randall's Island in New York City over Labor Day Weekend from Sept. 2-4. Fans can register for early bird wristbands now, which go on sale on Feb. 4. Three-day wristbands start at $199.99 and come with loads of perks. Those who grab them in the early pre-sale will get priority boarding, discounts on afterparties, ferry & shuttle travel and limited edition "Early Bird" wristbands.
The lineup has not been announced yet, but expect the over 100 DJs to unveiled in several waves over the next few months.
Fans can sign up for the pre-sale on Electric Zoo: Wild Island's website.
Last year's theme was "Transformed" and they started to use the "zoo" theme with a main stage that resembled a bird and put some more animal installations throughout the grounds.
Electric Zoo is entering its seventh year and looks to build on the success of last year after two pretty disastrous editions where the third day had to be canceled for different reasons.
The 2015 edition was headlined by DJs such as The Chemical Brothers, Alesso, Above & Beyond, Hot Since 82, Galantis, GRiZ, Alison Wonderland and The Glitch Mob.
