Forget the last-minute dinner reservations, gas station flowers and heart-shaped boxes full of chocolate: the electronic production duo known as PRXZM have got you covered with their new series of EDM Valentines. The cards feature Jack U, DJ Snake, Above & Beyond and Flume among countless other DJs' mugs paired with witty puns that will get you (and your rave fam) in the mood.
PRXZM launched their @EDM_Valentines Twitter earlier this week and have since been on a roll, Your EDM reports. As EDM Sauce points out, each holiday greeting is like a twisted version of a Hallmark card based entirely on different DJ's names and choice lyrics.
For example, a card featuring a photo of Flume states: "u can't spell flume without u n me."
DJ Snake's card takes the more direct route: "u wanna know why they call me dj snake."
Skrillex's greeting insists "u make my day moore sonny."
Some artists including Diplo, Flosstradamus and Valentino Khan have retweeted the Valentines made in their honor. Meanwhile, others have tweeted requests to be included in the shenanigans.
Similar Twitter and Instagram accounts have popped up before--including @EDMValentines which is uploading some equally quirky DJ-themed cards at the moment--but PRXZM's project seems to have generated the most buzz so far this season of love.
For those who are not yet acquainted with the artists behind @EDM_Valentines, PRXZM (sometimes stylized プリズム, always pronounced "prism") is the Indiana University-based future bass, trap and house production duo of Emma Maidenberg and Nick Ortega. According to their bios across social media platforms, they are students by day and bass droppers/neighbor annoyers by night.
In the past year they have released tracks through Borgore's Buygore label and Skrillex's Nest HQ imprint in addition to landing a few high profile features on tracks. They've also earned tens of thousands of plays on countless remixes of everything from iLoveMakonnen to Nicky Romero X Avicii, as well as a cover of Porter Robinson's "Sad Machine" which you can listen to below:
