Sam Feldt, the Dutch tropical house producer and DJ behind last year's feel good dance anthem "Show Me Love," is back with a new track titled "Been A While." The new cut is the title track off a forthcoming EP due out sometime in early March via Spinnin' Records. Listen below.
"Been A While" follows Feldt's collaboration with The Him, "Drive You Home," which garnered over 1.5 million plays on YouTube and Soundcloud. The new track continues in the same vein that has already established Feldt as a deep house tour de force.
The somewhat genre-defying tune features elements of tropical and deep house while simultaneously employing elements of live instrumentation including light electric guitar plucks, whistles and trumpets. The catchy vocals match the melody so perfectly one can easily imagine this track being one of those singalong moments in a live set.
The new track is accompanied by an equally feel-good video starring Feldt's new onesie-wearing sidekick Igor the Bear and directed by Deni Kukura.
The "Been A While" video follows Igor the Bear and a presumably lovelorn young woman through a romantic day involving a snowball fight, running through city squares thick with flocks of pigeons and drinking hot beverages in a quaint cafe somewhere in the Alps. By the video's end, everyone's spirits are lifted, Igor the Bear reveals her true identity and the two characters hug it out. Watch below.
Additionally, Feldt recently started a weekly podcast titled Heartfeldt Radio. The most recent episode was recorded in France while on the road and features an eclectic playlist of deep house cuts including Autograf's remix of The Tempations. Listen to last week's episode below
Feldt just finished up an European tour with David Guetta and has tour dates coming up this spring, including stops at renowned festivals like Buku in New Orleans, UME in Texas, Coachella and Ultra Miami.
