Kanye West is reaching out to the masses for an event he is putting on in Madison Square Garden next week. West has already announced to the world via Twitter that his Madison Square Garden show is officially sold out, which will serve as both a runway show and a premiere for his follow-up album to Yeezus, which remains untitled. Yeezy is looking for exactly 1,200 extras to complete his vision.
SPIN reports that the call for extras reads, “Yeezy Season 3 is launching a casting for up to 1200 paid extras to participate in the exclusive Yeezy Season 3 fashion show and premiere of Kanye West’s upcoming album at Madison Square Garden on February 11th. Extras will be among the first in the world to hear the new album and meals will be provided.”
According to the website for casting, “Extras will go through makeup and wardrobe and will be positioned throughout the floor of Madison Square Garden in a fully designed set. They will stand comfortably throughout the set and receive direction on their performance gestures.”
It was reported that event sold out lightning fast, in just ten minutes, and is set to be streamed live in theatres the world over. Onset Productions, the mastermind behind the show, is also reportedly paying up to $80 per day for being an extra in the production according to their email blast.
In his typical egotistical style, West recently took to Twitter to say that the record, which was first named Swish and then named Waves, would be “The Best Album Ever.” He later retracted that it would be “the best” in favor of calling it “ONE of the greatest albums,” comparing it to work done by Puff Daddy, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Pete Rock and Tupac amongst others.
