Bi-annual music and technology festival Moogfest announced most of its musical acts in December, but today, it has unveiled a new crop of artists who join in the festivities down in North Carolina. Among the bigger names who will join the bill include Grimes, Miike Snow, Bob Moses and Health.
They will join previously announced acts including Odesza, Ryan Hemsworth, GZA, who is doing two shows, DJ Harvey, Gary Numan, who is playing three shows, Skepta, Reggie Watts, Empress Of, Floating Points (Live) and Blood Orange.
Other acts who have been added to the lineup include The Black Madonna, Sun Ra Arkestra, EMA, Darwin, Afrikan Sciences, Eyes Low and Toby Heys.
To go along with the phase two artist announcement is a new EP from the festival, Translational Drifts: Volume 2, which includes artists from past and present. Given away for free, it calls upon various Moogfest acts to remix of cover tracks by seminal electronic musicians. There are remixes by the likes of Afrikan Sciences, Taz Arnold, Nosaj Thing and others. Listen and download the full EP below.
Moogfest will take place at venues all across Durham, North Carolina, one of the up-and-coming cities for tech and the arts. It will occur May 19-22. Tickets are on sale now starting at $249 for a three-day general admission pass and $499 for a VIP pass.
In addition to the music, there are plenty of technology expositions and conferences hosted by the likes of Duke University in town, Google, IBM, Kickstarter, MIT and others.
