Beyoncé Preps New Album Following 'Formation' Release

Beyoncé caused quite a stir with her latest release, “Formation,” and its accompanying video. Following her controversial Super Bowl 50 halftime performance, word on the Web is Yoncé is prepping a new album.

The “Drunk In Love” singer’s longtime stylist, Ty Hunter, made an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Monday (Feb. 8) and confirmed that Bey is in fact working on new music.

“I’ve heard the new album. It’s beyond awesome, it’s great,” he told host Andy Cohen.

During his brief check-in with Cohen, Hunter also shared his opinion on the outfits Beyoncé’s background dancers wore during her recent performance.

“Everything was awesome to me,” Hunter said of the outfits styled by Marni Senofonte.

Despite confirming new music, Hunter did not reveal when fans could expect the album. Beyoncé is no stranger to dropping new music out of the blue. Her last studio effort, her self-titled album, was released back in 2013 with no prior warning. The project has moved 2.3 million units.

At the end of December, it was reported that Beyoncé’s debut album, Dangerously In Love, surpassed 5 million units in U.S. sales. The album, released in 2003, sold just over 2,000 copies in the week ending Dec. 24.

Dangerously In Love, which featured the singles “Me, Myself and I,” “Baby Boy” with Sean Paul, “Naughty Girl” and the chart-topping “Crazy In Love” featuring her now hubby Jay Z, remains Beyoncé’s best-selling solo effort.

Aside from her new album, the Queen Bey is also gearing up for her Formation world tour. The trek kicks off April 27 at Marlins Park in Miami.
