Singer Chris Brown was just released from prison around midnight last night after serving 108 days of his 131-day sentence, as reported by TMZ.
Brown has had a series of mishaps over the years which have all clearly pointed to anger management; yet in this instance, the singer was taken into custody back in March, after being kicked from a Malibu facility for not only anger management, but also substance abuse and issues pertaining to bipolar disorder.
While Brown was initially sentenced to a full year in prison, Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin gave the singer credit for spending just about 116 days in rehab and 59 days behind bars.
After being released, the clearly delighted Brown took to Twitter, tweeting to his 13.5 million followers:
The famed singer's anger management issues were first publicized back in 2009 after he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna just before the Grammy Awards, for which he was placed on probation. He is currently facing another misdemeanor assault charge for a probation violation over an altercation just last year in Washington, D.C.
The trial is set to begin in a few months.
And while Brown's time and focus has been spent largely on his legal troubles, word has it the singer was pretty busy in prison, where he was said to be writing new music with R&B singer James DeBarge, who was in the cell next to him. How convenient!
