Grammys 2016: The Eagles, Jackson Browne Pay Tribute To Glenn Frey With "Take It Easy'

After Ed Sheeran took home the surprise 2016 Grammy win with "Thinking Out Loud" for Song Of The Year over favorites Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar, the remaining members of The Eagles, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Timothy B. Schmit & Joe Walsh with Jackson Browne paid tribute to their recently fallen guitarist and singer for the band, Glenn Frey.

Without much of an introduction, the screen flashed to a short interview with Glenn Frey and this gave way to the band coming out from behind a screen and launching into a rendition of "Take It Easy." It was clearly an emotional moment for all of them and after the band finished up doing the song live for one of the first times without Frey, the crowd gave them a standing ovation.

The Eagles understandable have a long history with the Grammys. The band has won six different awards including Record of the Year "Hotel California" in 1977, Best Rock Vocal performance by a Duo or Group with "Heartache Tonight" in 1979, and then again twice in the past 10 years. They won Best Country Performance for "How Long" in 2008 and Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 2009 for "I Dreamed There Was No War."

The Glenn Frey tribute is just one performance in a night of other all-star performers that include Adele, Justin Bieber with Skrillex and Diplo, The Eagles, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Miguel, Little Big Town, Kendrick Lamar, James Bay & Tori Kelly, Alabama Shakes and many more.
