Looks like the good news keeps on coming in for Austin Mahone.
Following last week's release of his debut LP "The Secret," it's been reported that the YouTube sensation is booked to perform the national anthem before Game 1 of the NBA Finals this coming Thursday night (June 5) on ABC.
The game will be played at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, at 9PM ET, with the San Antonio Spurs battling it out with the Miami Heat.
While the event is an incredible honor for any artist asked to perform, our guess is Mahone's excitement is through the roof based on the fact that he is a San Antonio native. And to top it off, he's apparently a huge fan of the Spurs. So, perhaps some trash talking could take place following his performance?
After singing for the sold out crowd on Thursday evening, the pop star will return to his hometown again on July 25 to start off his North American headlining tour... which is bound to also be sold out.
The upcoming performance comes as one in a long line of impressive achievements for the young pop star. Just last week, he released a new music video for his single "Shadow," to much hype, and a few days beforehand he played on the Today Show's Summer Concert Series, where he delivered the live debut of "Shadow."
Word is still swirling about a full-length record coming sometime this year.
