Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande Face MAGIC Competition on Digital Downloads Chart

Last week was a huge week for the Digital Downloads Top 10 in terms of sales, evidenced by only one of the tracks seeing a decrease in downloads from the previous week. Last week was a stark contrast that saw six of the singles on the chart face a drop. Three of those tracks were the bestsellers on the list, which managed to keep their spots despite the drop-off, which indicates a new wave of songs may soon top the chart.

Iggy Azalea and "Fancy" stay at the top for the second week in a row, but dropped 14 percent in sales to "only" 283,000 downloads. Azalea has been all over the news for topping the Hot 100 and appearing in the no. 2 spot as well, a feat only previously achieved by The Beatles. The Digital Downloads chart is much the same, as Ariana Grande and the Australian rapper come in at no. 2 with "problem," which sold 243,000 copies. The no. 3 spot, also neutral from last week, was Nico & Vinz's "Was I Wrong," which fell slightly in sales to 149,000 downloads.

One of two big winners on this week's list is MAGIC who jumped from no. 9 to no. 4 with the single "Rude," which sold another 141,000 downloads (a 25 percent increase). DJ Snake and Lil Jon saw the first drop in a long time for single "Turn Down For What," which dropped less than one percent to 137,000 downloads.

Jason Derulo was one of only three acts in the Top 10 to see an increase in sales. The performer jumped one spot after selling 133,000 copies of "Wiggle," a 7 percent increase. John Legend and "All of Me" may finally be on the way out, as the track drops to no. 7 and sold 16 percent less, totaling 123,000 downloads.

This week's big debut is 5 Seconds of Summer with second single "Good Girls," which finished its first week at no. 8 with 121,000 downloads. "Happy" by Pharrell Williams is also heading toward a Top 10 exit after dropping from no. 6 to no. 9 (a total of 113,000 downloads). The list was rounded off by another newcomer: Sam Smith jumps from no. 18 with "Stay With Me" with 103,000 downloads, a 28 percent increase.

Average no. of words in this week's Top 10 titles: 2.0
