Eric Prydz, Deadmau5 Named First Tomorrowland 2016 Headliners

Most festivals reveal their lineups all at once or in two or three phases. Tomorrowland likes to tease things out day-by-day with one or two artists at a time. To kick off their string of announcements, Tomorrowland has gone big with a stage and artist announcement. The growing relationship between Eric Prydz and deadmau5 will be shown again as they have a Mau5trap vs Pryda stage and headline the first night, Friday July 22.

According to a Tweet today, Eric Prydz will go back to back with deadmau5 as the headliners on their own stage.

Eric Prydz and deadmau5 have experience hosting their own stages at festivals around the world. Eric Prydz frequently hosts a tent at Creamfields and deadmau5 has hosted a tent at Leeds Festival.

This is not the first time they have hosted a festival stage together either. They headlined their own stage at the 2014 edition of Hard Day Of The Dead over Halloween weekend by going back-to-back for two hours. The lineup they curated included names like ZHU, Alesia, Eekkoo and Jeremy Olander.

No other names have been announced yet so fans do not know who any additions might be to their stage. Over the next couple of weeks, one or two DJs will be teased each day via the festival's socials.

2016 has already been a very good year for Eric Prydz and is shaping up to be a good one for deadmau5. Eric Prydz released his 19-track artist album Opus earlier this month, while deadmau5 unveiled a new stage set up at Governors Ball last year and hopes to release a new album in 2016.
