Host Kristen Bell had her hands full with all of the good natured fun at Wednesday night's CMT Awards but she gave as good as she got and her opening monologue had the crowd in stitches.
Another leading lady, Carrie Underwood, also reigned the night, taking home her third straight video of the year, making her the most celebrated CMT artist with a total of 11 belt buckle wins in her career.
Performances by Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves and Lee Ann Womack took the night over the top (even if Luke could have danced a little more). The mash-up of "This is How We Roll" and "Talk Dirty" by Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan and Jason Derulo and the paring of John Legend, Jennifer Nettles and Hunter Hayes singing a country version of Legend's hit "All of Me" were more highlights that had fans on their feet.
The winners of the night (other than the fans) were:
Group Video of the Year: The Band Perry - "Done"
Breakthrough Video of the Year: Cassadee Pope - "Wasting All These Tears"
Male Video of the Year: Blake Shelton - "Doin' What She Likes"
