On Friday morning Hot 97's Ebro Darden set off a battle of epic proportions after he single-handedly blamed 50 Cent for destroying New York hip hop, stemming from his beef back in 2002 with JaRule.
However, it wasn't long before The Kanan Tape rapper chimed in imposing his own point of view on the real demise of what happened to the hip hop culture in NY, pointing the finger at Darden for not doing enough to help local hip hop acts get more exposure during his tenure as Program Director for the station.
According to Hip Hollywood, Darden of Hot97's Ebro in the Morning cited 50 Cent as the cause of the destruction of NY hip hop saying, "When 50 and Ja didn't want to work together and people was affiliated on this side and people was on that side, it made other people from other places not also want to do music with those artists because they didn't want no problems."
The radio personality continued, "50 and I have had this discussion face to face. He don't like it but then he wants to say I'm covering for the fact I didn't support New York artists."
However, 50 Cent, who was unwilling to accept Darden's point-of-view, took to Instagram to respond to his accusations in a post calling out the former Program Director for Hot 97. 50 Cent captioned a photo of Darden on his page saying, "This Guy said I destroyed New York HipHop because I didn't work with New York artist, to cover up he was the program director that wouldn't play there records. SMH #EFFENVODKA"
He also shared another post taking aim at Darden which then elicited a response from him on air.
Do you believe that either one of them is at fault?
