As Bas prepares to release his sophomore album, Too High to Riot, in less than a week, the Dreamville artist has just dropped two more songs from the project. The tracks, "Clouds Never Get Old" and "Matches," featuring The Hics, are just what fans need to get excited for the 12-track album.
"Matches," produced by Ron Gilmore, features Bas rapping about Dreamville and the victims that have fallen at the hands of law enforcement. An honest but very strong track, Bas is addressing an issue that some won't take on in their songs.
"Clouds Never Get Old" comes from the production of Ogee Handz and DikC, and you can catch Bas addressing loyalty and relationships. Yet again, another topic that is mentioned far and between. Take a listen to both tracks and let us know what you think.
On top of dropping these two new tracks, Bas and Cozz teamed up to release the visual for their song "Tabs," according to Complex. The song is off of the Dreamville collective project, Revenge of the Dreamers II, which came out back in December.
The whole Dreamville crew seems to be keeping busy so far this year. Cozz just released his mixtape, Nothin Personal, in early January on LiveMixtapes.com and it was just announced that J. Cole will be performing at a DNC Fundraising Event. Complex has reported that J. Cole will be the musical guest for the Democratic National Convention Fundraiser on March 11 in Austin, Texas. The convention, hosted by Whurley and Will.i.am, will have President Barack Obama as the special guest.
Though the fundraiser is not affiliated with SXSW, it will take place on the same day the festival begins. And yes, J.Cole alongside Bas, Cozz and Omen will be performing.
