While Adele only appeared to sing in the rain, hundreds of fans actually queued outside the SSE Arena while it is was raining, some having traveled quite a distance just to see the first show of Adele's world tour, Belfast Live reported.
Adele opened the show with "Hello" from her album 25. Her set “Hometown Glory” and “One and Only.” The singer then relayed told the audience she'd been had an upset stomach all day.
“I’ve been f***ing s***ting myself all day,” she said, according to The Guardian. “Bad bowel movements. I’ve had to have an Imodium.”
Adele also performed her current single, “When We Were Young," while photos from her childhood flashed on the stage. And she concluded her concert with her famous hit, “Rolling in the Deep."
During the tour, Adele will be accompanied by a therapist who will help her manage her anxiety issues because she tends to get nervous while on stage.
“Adele may be the biggest star in the world right now but she has always been open about suffering stage fright, and the problem at the Grammy’s hasn’t helped. As with many parents, her anxiety has increased since having a child and it’s something she is constantly battling. The more success she has the more anxious she gets – like she’s frightened she won’t live up to the hype," a source said according to Independent.
