We'd like to think most people would be psyched about matching a US chart record previously held by The Beatles, but then again, Iggy Azalea isn't "most people."
The Australian artist recently scored both a Number One and Number Two spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, something only done by everyone's favorite quartet from overseas. Yet, in a recent interview, she expressed her rather apathetic, blasé thoughts on the matter, saying it "doesn't mean anything." She then added, "I'd rather be The Rolling Stones." Naturally, one can assume that turned some heads.
Perhaps now we know where the star stands on that whole Beatles VS Rolling Stones: Who's Better? debate.
The artist is no stranger to controversy, having been criticized multiple times in the past for her "Americanized" rap voice. To this, she told Billboard, "We get so caught up, especially in rap, with what's authentic, and I wish people would think more about what the fuck that even means. One critic was like, 'Why didn't you talk about more Australian things?' I don't understand why I'm supposed to write a song about living in the outback and riding a kangaroo to be authentic."
This isn't the first time she's made some recent, and not so positive, news. Just last week, Iggy candidly slammed Lorde's recent Nirvana Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction performance, saying it was inappropriate seeing as the singer was not a peer of Kurt Cobain's.
So, perhaps we should ask you. Who is better: The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?
